Range Rules
- NO APPOINTMENTS – 1ST COME, FIRST SERVED.
- RANGE PERSONNEL
- MSS Range personnel are in direct control of the range at all times. Any person handling a firearm in an unsafe or careless manner will be asked to leave and will be barred from Metro Shooting Supplies.
- MSS Range personnel are authorized to inspect all firearms and ammunition. MSS Range personnel will ban the use of firearms or ammunition they deem unsafe, or not in good working condition.
- FIREARM SAFETY PROCEDURES
- All firearms must be unloaded when brought into Metro Shooting Supplies.
- Shooters must NEVER move beyond the firing line. If you need to retrieve an object, (magazine, brass, targets, etc.) that fell beyond the firing line, contact the Range Officer for assistance.
- While in Metro Shooting Supplies,ALL firearms must be cased.
- All Rental Guns must remain in the tote provided by the Range Officer, Unloaded, Magazine removed, and Action Open.
- Rental Guns must shoot the ammo purchased with the Rental, at the Time of the Visit (NO EXCEPTIONS)
- Unattended firearms must be unloaded.
- Firearms must be pointed down range at all times while on the range. Firearms must in a case, as described above, while moving to and from the firing line.
- A Parent or Guardian must accompany ANY person under 18 years of age. The Parent or Guardian must always remain with the minor while using the range.
- You must be 18 Years old to shoot Long guns
- You must be 21 Years old to shoot Handguns
- Once an individual has entered the booth, the firearm may be loaded and must be pointed down range. Firearms may NOT be loaded outside the booth.
- Accidental discharges, damages or injuries – NO MATTER how minor – MUST be reported to the Range Officer IMMEDIATELY!
- When leaving the firing line, unload the firearm, lay the Firearm pointed downrange and the action open.
- When you are finished shooting,unload your weapon, bring the case to the firearm and place it into its case. Clean up your shooting booth, pick up all your brass and remove all targets and trash before leaving.
- TYPES OF FIREARMS ALLOWED
- Most handguns are allowed
- NO AR/AK Pistols
- Full Length Shotguns may be utilized on the Range with Slug ammunition ONLY
- No Pistol Grip Shotguns
- No Mare’s leg Shotguns
- No Shot Ammunition
- LANE USEAGE
- At the Belleville Range: Lanes 1-8, May be utilized for Handguns, Lanes 1-3 May be utilized for Rifles, up to 30.06
- At the Bridgeton Range: All Lanes may be utilized for Firearms up to 30.06
- AMMUNITION
- ALL Center Fire Rifle ammunition MUST be purchased from Metro Shooting Supplies On the Day of your Visit.
- All: Steel Cased, Steel Cored, Bimetal, Armor penetrating, tracer, shot shells, explosive or incendiary rounds are prohibited
- The use of ANY prohibited ammunition will result in the revocation of Range Privileges and the Barring of the shooter from Metro Shooting Supplies.
- Factory ammunition or factory reloads may be utilized on the Metro Shooting Supplies
- UNAUTHORIZED TARGETS
- Firing at other than approved targets will result in revocation of range privileges and liability for damages to include repair costs for damaged property and/or equipment.
- EYE AND EAR PROTECTION
- All persons on the range must wear eye protection at all times. Metro Shooting Supplies will rent eye and ear protection to those who need it.
- DRY FIRING
- Dry firing is allowed on the firing line only. Dry firing in the retail area or outside the shooting stall is prohibited.
- CEASE FIRE
- When you hear the command “Cease Fire”, stop firing immediately. Lay your firearm on the counter and step back from the shooting line.
- Wait for the Range Officer to announce when it’s safe to resume shooting.
- MISFIRE OR MALFUNCTION
- If you experience a misfire or malfunction, keep your firearm pointed down range. If necessary, place the firearm on the counter pointed down range and obtain assistance from the Range Officer
- ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
- The use of alcohol or drugs is prohibited at Metro Shooting Supplies. Persons believed to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be refused service.
- SMOKING, FOOD AND BEVERAGE
- Smoking, eating and/or drinking are prohibited at Metro Shooting Supplies.
STRICT ADHEARENCE TO THESE RULES AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON THE FIRING RANGE WILL HELP PREVENT ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES.
